Amidst the onslaught of awesome designer toys announced by Unruly Industries (The "designer toy" sub-brand from Sideshow Collectibles), is one particular item that needs to be highlighted here on this humble film-hobby blog: The "Guru del Toro: Maestro of Monsters" vinyl collectible from illustrator & storyteller from Guayaquil, Ecuador; Chogrin Muñoz!

You can see the figure in person on display at the coming San Diego Comic Con 2019 (July 18-21) at the Sideshow booth #1929 and Unruly Industries booth #2649, and prepare yourselves to worship the cinematic idol! LOL

Check out more del Toro-illustrations by Chogrin featured below, including "Guillermo del Toro - Anatomy" (Further details on Tumblr), which was apart of the "GUILLERMO DEL TORO: IN SERVICE OF MONSTERS" from 2015, AND the first incarnation of the figure during that time too (previously featured HERE), and feeling excited that more folks could lay their hands on this collectible (sculpted by Taylor B / Insta @shyailu). Incidentally, the original one-off "Buddha del Toro" was actually purchased by del Toro himself at the show!



WHAT-WAS: GUILLERMO DEL TORO: IN SERVICE OF MONSTERS was an art show in tribute to Guillermo del Toro's filmography as a director, featuring o ver 150 artists from around world paid tribute to the director's 9 movies and the Strain tv series. The show was curated by illustrator & designer Chogrin, and co-curated by artist and deltorofilms.com collaborator, Gary Deocampo.

GUILLERMO DEL TORO: IN SERVICE OF MONSTERS premiered on Friday, September 11th and exhibited thru October 3rd, 2015 at Gallery 1988 West.

CHOGRIN has as well curated another group art show titled "IN THE NAME OF THE MONSTER, THE ROBOT, AND THE BLEEDING GHOST", held at Gallery Nucleus (January 13, 2018 - January 28, 2018), in tandem with the release of "The Shape of Water".
