MARVEL has been exceedingly adapt at using less recognisable characters and building them up, without much baggage, actually - most notably "Iron Man", and a prime example would also be "Guardians of the Galaxy", with "The Eternals" primed to be THE most ethnically diverse collection of folks we'll see thus far into the superhero film game.

"Thanos" is a Eternal with "Deviant Syndrome".
