"It's Okay to Not Be Okay": Character Teasers

"An extraordinary road to emotional healing opens up for an antisocial children's book writer and a selfless psych ward caretaker when they cross paths."

"It's Okay to Not Be Okay" (Korean: 사이코지만 괜찮아; RR: Saikojiman gwaenchana; lit. Psycho But It's Okay) is an upcoming South Korean romantic television series starring Kim Soo-hyun and Seo Ye-ji. Scheduled to premiere on tvN in South Korean on June 20, 2020, and will be streamed worldwide exclusively on Netflix outside Korea.

Two "character" teasers have been released thus far, with the above featuring "Go Moon-young" (played by Seo Ye-ji, whom I adored in "Lawless Lawyer"), while the below featured teaser showcases "Moon Gang-tae" (played by Kim Soo-hyun of "My Love from the Star" and "The Producers"). The visuals shown are amazing, and could well be "fantasy sequences" (in lieu of the "supernatural"? First thing popped into mind, actually, much in the vein of "Hotel DeLuna", IMHO).

The synopsis seem exceeding mundane, slightly skewered from what is seen in the teasers... hhhmmm .. but then we all know not to wholly trust "promotional videos" from Korea, no? And the literal Korean translation of "Psycho But It's Okay" is exceedingly intriguing too ... I'M IN!

PRESS: "The show depicts an unusual romance between two people who end up healing each other’s emotional and psychological wounds. Moon Gang-tae, played by Kim Soo-hyun (My Love from the Star, The Moon Embracing the Sun), is a caretaker working at a psychiatric ward who does not even bother to believe in love. He seems to be carrying all the weight and pain in life, and devotes himself only to looking after his disabled older brother. Go Moon-young, played by Seo Ye-ji (Save Me, Lawless Lawyer), is a children’s book writer who is clueless about love. She is popular among all age groups, yet very antisocial and indifferent to others.

It’s Okay to Not Be Okay is produced by Studio Dragon, written by Jo Yong (Jugglers), and directed by Park Shin-woo (Encounter, Don’t Dare to Dream)."
