Celebrating the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong classic movie "Out Of The Dark", Unbox Industries has teamed up with PLAYTOY and Celestial Pictures to release a version of vinyl figure of classic movie characters (featured here) as designed by @jimdreams (Creator of CHUNK, CHUBBI CHUNK and BABY CHUNK)
The VINART SUPREME "Out Of The Dark" vinyl figures stand 6-inches tall and come with accessories, all blister carded - with a scheduled Saturday August 22nd availability online via the Unbox E-Shop and associated retailers. The item is as well currently listed on ruten.com.tw, priced at TWD 2000 (US$68 / S$93). No specific quantity has been revealed at this time.
@unboxindustrie X @playtoyhongkong X Celestial Pictures had previously collaborated on "FILMART SUPREME" collectibles, including SUPER INFRA-MAN and OILY MANIAC and more!
The "Out of the Dark" figures were apart of THIS list of Shaw Brothers movies to be made toy too!
Now with the obvious "Leon The Professional" aesthetic, you might think this is a riff-off, and it actually is! "Out of the Dark 回é‚夜" is a 1995 feature film by Shaw Brothers (directed by Jeff Lau), which starred Stephen Chow (whom you see in the trailer above, DOES don Leon's trademark clothes lol), and actress Karen Mok, who donned the guise of Natalie Portman's "Matilda"! (See trailer below) = So all this is a swell slice of archival Asian Cinema...!
PLOT: "It starts when a couple kill the man's mother, then die themselves trying to kill the exorcist who uncovers their crime. They vow vengeance, leading to a duel to end all duels between the living and the dead."
