STRANGER 2 KDrama Premieres Aug 15th

"In the midst of a power clash between prosecutors and police, Si-mok and Yeo-jin uncover murky secrets as they pursue a labyrinth of intertwined cases."

Season 1 totally caught me off guard. I'd randomly stumbled unto an episode on cable, and was intrigued to find out more, and subsequently devoured "STRANGER" ("Bimilui Soop" AKA "Secret Forest" = literal title of "비밀의 숲"). And while the 16-episode series was aired in 2017, I managed to catch it somewhen in 2019.

Cleverly written, not too contrived (for a Asian procedural), and one aspect which I appreciated; ...SPOILERS FOR SEASON 1... there was no tangible "romance" shoved own our throats! Although they were sometimes teased like feathers on our faces LOL

Fast forward to 2020, with Season 2 of STRANGERS scheduled to premiere August 15, 2020 - airing Saturday and Sunday: 2 episodes per week, on South Korean channel tvN, and on Netflix (in the slot to be vacated by It's Okay To Not Be Okay ended on August 9th).

SEASON 1 SYNOPSIS: "Hwang Shi-Mok (Cho Seung-Woo) had brain surgery when he was a child, which caused him to lack emotion. Now, Hwang Shi-Mok works as a prosecutor. He is rational, but cold and lonely. He is also one of the only prosecutors not involved in corruption. One day, a dead body is thrown in front of him. He meets Police Lieutenant Han Yeo-Jin (Bae Doo-Na) at a murder crime scene. They work together to eradicate corruption at the prosecutor's office and solve a serial murder case." (asianwiki.com)

For Season 2, Lee Joon-Hyuk (as “Seo Dong-Jae”), Yoon Se-Ah (“Lee Yeon-Jae”), Park Sung-Geun (“Kang Won-Cheol”) and Choi Jae-Woong -(“Jang Gun”) returns with principals Cho Seung-Woo and Bae Doo-Na, and are joined by a new cast of characters.

SEASON 2 SYNOPSIS: "The prosecutor's office and the police find themselves on opposing sides. The prosecutors, including elite prosecutor Woo Tae-Ha (Choi Moo-Sung), want discretionary power over investigations. Meanwhile, the police, including Choi Bit (Jeon Hye-Ji), tries to get complete investigative authority that is independent of the prosecutor's office.

Under this tense situation, Prosecutor Hwang Shi-Mok (Cho Seung-Woo) and Detective Han Yeo-Jin (Bae Doo-Na) chase after the truth in a hidden case."

Screenwriter for Season 2 is Lee Soo-Yeon, who won Best Screenplay for "Stranger" in the 54th BaekSang Arts Awards in 2018 (Source)

The director for Season 2 is Park Hyun-Suk (whose previous series "Just Dance" is one web-series I am familiar with - which NEARLY made my 2019 KDrama Top Ten, but...).
