NIGHT IN PARADISE: Trailer, Clip, Poster + Stills

NETFLIX SYNOPSIS: "Hiding out in Jeju Island following a brutal tragedy, a wronged mobster with a target on his back connects with a woman who has her own demons. A man targeted by the mob meets a woman on the edge of life. This is their intense story."

Directed by Park Hoon-jung, and starring Uhm Tae-goo, Jeon Yeo-been and Cha Seung-won, NIGHT IN PARADISE premieres April 9th only on Netflix. If the above Synopsis from Netflix is too "vague", the plot description from Wiki clears it up...

PLOT: "After his sister and nephew are murdered because he tried to leave his gang, Tae-goo flees to Jeju Island where he meets Jae-yeon, a terminally ill woman." (Wiki).

And while I am unfamiliar with South Korea's provinces and geography, my impressions of Jeju Island was that it was a nice vacation spot, so this at least would be an interesting juxtaposition between the surface beauty, and the tensions boiling underneath - at least from the protagonists and their circumstances...?

Featured below is clip (premiered on September 3, 2020 at the 77th Venice International Film Festival) for the 131 minuter feature film, which was scheduled for a release in South Korea on April 9th, 2021.
