Besides the story (where we see The Boys getting "super powers" FTW), we will be introduced to tons more "Super Powered" characters (the Comicbook source is page-to-page superhero parodies / fk "fatigue", innit?) - which'll include "Soldier Boy" (played by Jensen Ackles), "Crimson Countess" (Laurie Holden), "Gunpowder" (Sean Patrick Flanery, with character apart of "Teenage Kix"), Nick Wechsler is "Blue Hawk", and Miles Gaston Villanueva will play "Supersonic" - formerly known as "Drummer Boy", whom was Starlight's former boyfriend in the comicbooks, pre-"Seven".
