"DUTY AFTER SCHOOL" New Kdrama where students are trained to be soldiers.



Students in 3rd grade 2nd class at a high school are supposed to study hard for their entrance exams. Instead, they must fight a war against bizarre alien creatures that appear in the sky. Students are then trained by the military as soldiers, to fight the aliens. (Full synopsis here)



And while we've just watched ensemble actors as students surviving the zombie apocalypse ("All of Us Are Dead"), folks might also be familiar with the "Battle Royale" films where junior-high-school students were forced to fight to the death by the Japanese totalitarian government (The 1st 2000-film remains in my TOP 100 EVER), so the "freshness" of this concept - to me - depends on the students themselves, or the actors playing them, IMHO.



Seeing students in their uniforms wearing the camo battle-gear is both visually jarring, and screams "look at how unique I am!" = Reminds me of students having a field trip to a military base tho, where they "try out" the battle gear... but Im still keen to experience this tho, so we'll see... :p

Based on webcomic "Banggwa Hoo Jeonjaenghwaldong” by Ha Il-Kwon (published from November 17, 2012 to December 21, 2013 via Naver), "Duty After School" (Hangul: 방과 후 전쟁활동) is upcoming new 10-episoder Kdrama on TVING, premiering March 31st (on Fridays).
