#watched #crouchingtigerhiddendragon #swordofdestiny - the colors and visuals were indeed lush and very colour graded but in a subtle and refined way, Raheem than "kitsch", IMHO. At some points the teal skies reminded me very much of "old" martial arts movies of the 50-60s? If this was deliberate, then major kudos! #popcornX #iliketeevee
#watched #crouchingtigerhiddendragon #swordofdestiny - I never expected to see Vietnamese actress #VeronicaNgo #ThanhVanNgo here!!! So proud of her (if I may be so bold to be...), from the time when we worked in a local TV series where she kicked ass! And now she's still Kicking ass as "Mantis", alas as an underling for #HadeaDai :p #popcornX #iliketeevee
#watched #crouchingtigerhiddendragon #swordofdestiny - It had been a satisfying watch, and simple to follow thru, unlike the poetical vein that pulsed in the Ang Lee film, with this being a straightup martial arts flick, anchored in late part by the presence of Michelle Yeoh's pathos, and the haunting soundtrack. Directed by Yuen Woo-Ping, this was a swell watch online, but perhaps the scope seems somewhat dialed down for the silver screen? In this day of big screen Kung fu flicks, this film might seem more intimate than it's ilk, but nevertheless just as gorgeous. And contrary to initial apprehension, the all-English speaking worked decent well for me haha #popcornX #iliketeevee
I'll end off with sharing the official Chinese theme song 《*如果时间剩一秒 / 如果時間剩一秒》, as performed by CoCo Lee & Jam Hsiao! (Blogged on #tunestalk)
*Approx translation: "If Time Has One Second More / If Time Has One Second More".
The difference is in the words "时间" and "時間" (Hanyu Pingyin: "shíjiān") - with the first pair being in "Simplified Chinese", while the second pair is in "traditional" Chinese characters.
