"Vought is Here For You" - #NYCC2018 Teaser for "THE BOYS" on Amazon Prime Video

"In a world where superheroes embrace the darker side of their massive celebrity and fame, THE BOYS centers on a group of vigilantes known informally as “The Boys,” who set out to take down corrupt superheroes with no more than their blue-collar grit and a willingness to fight dirty. THE BOYS is a fun and irreverent take on what happens when superheroes – who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods – abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about “The Seven,” and Vought – the multi-billion dollar conglomerate that manages these superheroes."

I've been a massive fan of THE BOYS comicbooks for years, having clued in quite randomly with half-way before the end of the run, and devouring the previous trades with wanton aplomb, and had hardly felt they would in any ways be able to be adapted into any form of "live action", that will not be able to retain its hard "R" sensibilities ... and in many ways, I secretly appreciated that ... with so many comicbook properties being adapted in recent decades, I'd very much appreciate some properties being kept on the printed page, innit?

Then news broke about this series on (Amazon) Prime, and I've held my breath in for as long as I sensibly could, until I saw some footage, at least ... until New York Comic Con 2018 regurgitated this into the wwwild, and quite frankly, I am intrigued to see more.

I am interested to see how a predominantly "British"-voiced comicbook series be adapted into American sensibilities ... I am intrigued to see how far the television series days to go beyond the "middle-fingers" seen in the teaser ... I am intrigued to see how they will present new recruit "Starlight" needing to go down on the "Homelander" of "The Seven" (and that's just the "easiest" of the "R"... :p), and screw it all if it's all SPOILERS, because that's how the comic was to me. So yes, color me "intrigued". THE BOYS is scheduled for a 2019 release.
