HELLBOY Official Trailer & Still Image
Hot on the cyber-heels of two (motion) poster reveals, and released a day earlier (no doubt thanks to a low-res "leaked trailer" circulating the www), comes the official first trailer for the HELLBOY feature film reboot!
"Based on the graphic novels by Mike Mignola, Hellboy, caught between the worlds of the supernatural and human, battles an ancient sorceress bent on revenge. Summit Entertainment presents, Millennium Films presents, a Lawrence Gordon/Lloyd Levin production, in association with Dark Horse Entertainment, a Nu Boyana production, in association with Campbell Grobman Films."
Along with the trailer was a still (first released by @entertainmentweekly / current image via @HellboyMovie) - which showed a trio of principle characters in the film (above left-to-right): "Alice Monaghan" (Sasha Lane), "Hellboy" (David Harbour), and "Major Ben Daimio" (Daniel Dae Kim). Both Alice and Ben are BPRD Agents, and from their diction presented, are the British branch.
And while the visual of Hellboy will definitely be compared with that of Ron Perlman's incarnation in two Guillermo del Toro-directed films, and as haunting and discomforting it has since left me - it does resemble more of Mike Mignola's illustrations, as this film is touted to be referenced to .... I just cannot get over how tiny his hands look, compared to his buffed-bod FFS! That said, I really hope to enjoy this celluloid incarnation, and look forward to seeing more promos and videos, before I make my "judgement" ... because if it's just based on THIS trailer, well ... tsk.
Directed by Neil Marshall, "Hellboy" premieres April 12th, 2019 on the U.S.A., with currently no listing as yet for Singapore screens (IMDb).
