And while my earlier coverage of this animated series on Netflix was primarily focused on my I NOT OTAKU! Anime-fanblog and my (now defunct) ILIKETEEVEE-blog. Featured below tis a collection of images and info this far, starting my coverage of the series HERE on POPCORNX!

Season One of ULTRAMAN launched in 2019, with 13 episodes (an average of 23 minutes per ep, except for final at 25mins) currently viewable here on Netflix. The series is based on the "re-design" of the Tokusatsu character(s) for HEROES manga (first blogged about in 2011 on TOYSREVIL), which everyone since has likened to being a "knock-off Iron Man".

Seen above is the first teaser poster image, while below is the Official Trailer.

As previously blogged about, the CG-animated series was co-directed by Kenji Kamiyama (“Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex” & “ANCIEN AND THE MAGIC TABLET”), and Shinji Aramaki (“APPLESEED” & “Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars”), with production by Production I.G × SOLA DIGITAL ARTS. Featured below is a couple of CLIPS from the series (so you have an idea of the animation style) - of course it's the "transformation scene" - followed by the full reveal poster image for Season 1.

Ultraman Anime Threezero 01

On the toy-front, Hong Kong's THREEZERO had since released multiple characters (seen in the anime) in 1/6th-scale, including ULTRAMAN OG (above), ULTRAMAN 7 (2 versions) and "ULTRAMAN ACE".

Also featured previously on I NOT OTAKU! are THESE line-up of character figures, which describes the line-up me see in the Key Art for "Ultraman Season 2"!

Previously launched for pre-orders on p-bandai.jp is "HG (High Grade) ULTRAMAN SET 02" figurine set, featuring ULTRAMAN SUIT JACK (120mm tall), ULTRAMAN SUIT A (Which I think refers to "Ace" / 90mm tall) and ULTRAMAN SUIT ZOFFY (95mm tall), priced at 7,150yen (approx. US$67 / SG$90), with an expected November 2019 release for these ABS, PVC, MABS make statuettes (No articulation, it seems).

And while I recognise the name "Jack" from the anime (We've thus far only seen his "human" guise :p), and we've seen "Ace" in action, I am looking forward to find out who "Zoffy" is, if he appears in the Netflix anime tho...

The character who calls himself "Ace" (in the anime), is based off "ULTRAMAN SUIT A" in the serialised "Ultraman Monthly Heroes" manga, and can currently be purchased here as an articulated 1/12th scaled action figure from Bandai Spirits "Figure-Rise"-line, priced at 4,860 yen (approx. US$45 / SG$61 ... or here on Amazon for US$57), with a scheduled market release on May 25th (Go check in with your anime toy dealer/retailer, folks), joining the previously unleashed 1/12th ULTRAMAN and ULTRAMAN Ver. 7.5 (Links to Amazon purchase).

What's particularly "cool" about this figure, is the LED unit attached to the body, where you can let the eyes and chest SSC generator shine. The chest SSC generator reproduces the two colors blue and red.

And with questions of "WHO" aside, here are images of Threezero's display at the recent Wonder Festival Shanghai, showcasing their previously announced anime versions of ULTRAMAN and ULTRAMAN 7 in 1/6th-scale, joined by "ACE"! (Images via @threezero). No release info as yet.

"Season 2" was teased circa June 2019, in the following animated poster, with three years in the making, and still counting...!
