Madame Web

SYNOPSIS: "Meanwhile, in another universe…” In a switch from the typical genre, Madame Web tells the standalone origin story of one of Marvel publishing's most enigmatic heroines. The suspense-driven thriller stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who may have clairvoyant abilities. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women destined for powerful futures...if they can all survive a deadly present.



Directed by SJ Clarkson, with screenplay by Claire Parker & SJ Clarkson, this story by Kerem Sanga stars Dakota Johnson as the titular "Madame Web", based on the character in the Marvel Comics, before she lost the use of her legs, as further described in "vignette" directly above, and a character I am wholly unfamiliar with, because I've not read her in the comics! Maybe being "obscure" is the way to go down the SpiderMan Cinematic Universe, without it going into "Morbin'time"-overdrive, innit? "Tthe future lies in her web," indeed :)
