#ThePenguin - New Official Teaser for upcoming series on Max

The next chapter in THE BATMAN saga from Matt Reeves features Academy Award Nominee Colin Farrell (unrecognisable) as "The Penguin" in the new Max Original Series coming this fall to Max.

Since it's "in-production" teaser (reposted below), we have a brand new teaser image drop, in a tale showcasing the rise of "Oswald Cobblepot"...

WHO-IS: The Penguin (Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot) is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly as an adversary of the superhero Batman. The character made his first appearance in Detective Comics #58 (December 1941) and was created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger. The Penguin is one of Batman's most enduring enemies and belongs to the collective of adversaries that make up Batman's rogues gallery.

In-Production Teaser (repost)

From animation to live action television and film, incarnations of The Penguin has near always depicted the fictional character closer to the comicbook stylings of a dandily-dressed character with a top hat, plus an umbrella with gadgets rivaling that of Batman's utility belt. We do not see these at all the upcoming "The Penguin" on Max.

In my opinion, the most notable depiction of Oswald Cobblepot / The Penguin was in 1992's "Batman Returns" (Watch on Amazon), portrayed by Danny DeVito, which to me is the absolute classic, bridging the live-action comicbook-adaptation genre and comicbook themselves, IMHO.

In the 2022 film, a young Oswald Cobblepot (played by Colin Farrell) is the right-hand man of crime lord Carmine Falcone. He resents the "Penguin" nickname and owns the Iceberg Lounge nightclub. Check out the clip of the first face-to-face with Robert Pattinson's Batman (Watch on Amazon)

In this Max series (which consists of 8 episodes), we will be seeing the transformation of Oswald Cobblepot from a disfigured nobody to a noted Gotham gangster.
