SYNOPSIS: From New Line Cinema comes the latest high-stakes installment in the blockbuster video game franchise in all its brutal glory, Mortal Kombat II. This time, the fan favorite champions—now joined by Johnny Cage himself—are pitted against one another in the ultimate, no-holds barred, gory battle to defeat the dark rule of Shao Kahn that threatens the very existence of the Earthrealm and its defenders.
Pretty jazzed to watch this when it comes out, thanks to Karl Urban, I admit. And beyond the film itself, POPCORN BUCKET and cinema merch has since been revealed online, including trading card promos!

MY SAY: And while I understand and acknowledge the pop-culture significance of this video game (alongside Street Fighter), I was not a fervent player nor admirer, and upon first seeing the teasers of this life-action film, was actually quite intriguing, moist of which was due to "Karl Urban" - whom I thought was a "parody-casting" when the promos started for this film...!
Not having a spectacular experience with the predecessor (which I did not dislike tho), I had my doubts ... then the teasers showed a grounded self-doubt "Johnny Cage" grounding the ludicrous story, kinda resonated within me a tad, so I am here for it.
The Red Band-gore is something which I always associated with the MK-game, which I think is necessary to the cinematic franchise, which honours the games the by-now-adults have grown up playing with, as well signally a "don't need to cater to kiddos"-tone, which I appreciate.
