Disney's Marvel Cinematic Universe To Bid Bye Bye To Sony's Spider-Man?
So I woke up this Wednesday to this headline from Nerdist.com: "Marvel and Sony End SPIDER-MAN Movie Partnership" on my Facebook stream, and essentially most other online media outlets, who had reported that Disney wanted a “50/50 co-financing arrangement,” while “Sony turned that offer down flat" ...
And if you don't know by now, while "Spider-Man" is a Marvel comic book character, Sony bought the film rights for the superhero (and his attending characters) in 1999, and they have not let go of that cash-cow since :)

...then I headed out to my appointments for the day (after a fortnight staying indoors due to gout), and came back to this reply by Sony (via movieweb.com), after an apparent stock dropping for the day, along with a #BoycottSony trending online started by Marvel/Spiderman-fans:
Even with the recent Marvel Studio reveals at San Diego Comic Con, no Spider-Man-project was ever teased! Although you can also argue "only two years of projects had been announced", sure, and "Far From Home" had just came out on theatres...
With whatever the outcome, we've seen two reboots of the celluloid Spider-Man thus far - from Sam Raimi's THREE Toby Maguire Spider-Mans, to TWO Andrew Garfield's, and now TWO Tom Holland's ... Will we now see his Peter Parker come up against Tom Hardy's VENOM? Will this be the only way fans'll get to see this?
... and then I saw THIS image on Facebook, and I LOL'd hard!

Ok, if you are unsure of what "Night Monkey" IS, it is the moniker Peter Parker's best friend Ned tells/explains/lies to his girlfriend about the identity of this incarnation of Spider-Man in a SHIELD stealth-suit, that he was known as "The Night Monkey"!
Damyn but THIS carded figure is gonna be HAWT soon! LOL

We are disappointed, but respect Disney’s decision not to have him continue as a lead producer of our next live action Spider-Man film. We hope this might change in the future, but understand that the many new responsibilities that Disney has given him – including all their newly added Marvel properties – do not allow time for him to work on IP they do not own. Kevin is terrific and we are grateful for his help and guidance and appreciate the path he has helped put us on, which we will continue."Regardless of the drama, business had been affected, and folks are speculating on the future of Spider-Man in the MCU. Looking at the timeline, Spiderman: Far From Home herald the END of MCU's Phase 3 (of course at the same time opened up far more to be had, if a third-Spiderman movie were to be had), but essentially, with the death of "Tony Stark" (in Avengers: Endgame), and the "connection" had since been "stretched out" in "Far From Home", don't you think "the (inevitable) end" (of the partnership) had already been planned out? Pending new business agreement, no doubt).
