Amidst the glamour we enjoy seeing in music videos and on stage, the lives behind the performers looks to be unveiled in this drama, which frankly shows a whole lot more tears and angst than expected, IMHO. So either this drama'll spill the tea and bust the gates wide open to all the dealings of the World of KPOP, or be an entertaining slice of entertainment life ... It looks to be thr former, innit? First episode premieres November 8, 2021 on JTBC, TVING and iQiyi (International Streaming). .

"Idol: The Coup" (아이돌 : 더 쿠데타) is an upcoming new Kdrama that "depicts an unpopular idol group's last story," (asianwiki.com), "To disband the group "Cotton Candy", the group needs only a one time hit."
The main cast includes Ahn Hee-Yeon AKA "Hani" of EXID - who plays "Kim Je-Na": A member of Cotton Candy for past 6 years. Other idol girl group members include EXY (of WJSN), Green (of Redsquare) and Ahn Sol-Bin (of Laboum). Actress Han So-Eun rounds off the gg "Cotton Candy".
'Cha Jae-Hyeok (Kwak Si-Yang) is the CEO of the entertainment company which manages Cotton Candy. Seo Ji-Han (Kim Min-Kyu) is a member of the popular idol group "Mars", which belongs to the same entertainment company as Cotton Candy.' (asianwiki.com)
