"The series is produced by Tim Miller, Joshua Donen, David Fincher and Jennifer Miller. Each episode was animated by different crews from a range of countries. The series is a re-imagining of Fincher and Miller's long in-development reboot of the 1981 animated science fiction film Heavy Metal."

Durations per episodes ranged between 7 minutes to 18 minutes.
The first season consisted of 18 episodes, released on March 15, 2019 (FEATURES on POPCORNX).
The second season had 8 episodes, and was released on May 14, 2021 (FEATURES on POPCORNX).
The third season (teaser shown above) will consist of 8 episodes as well. "The continuation of at least two stories from the first season has been confirmed."
