#MyCineTix: Singapore Film Fest 1999

Found some more ticket stubs, so thought to relive the cine-memories, adding to these, and more likely will continue to do so when I do come across any more, cheers.

"Sunday Drive", "Claire Dolan" (RA / YT) and "Connection by Fate" (Trailer for Singapore Film Fest 1999, were all quite frankly; "forgotten" ... except for "Bullet Ballet" (Shinya Tsukamoto FTW), which I subsequently tracked down and purchased the DVD for!

Another highlight of the 1999 fest and eventually the entirety of my Anime Film-loving adult life, was "The Wolf Brigade" / "Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade", and honestly my experience with anime was heightened with screenings at the annual film fests, which elevated the status (for me, at least) the once-tv-only offering(s), now in full splendour on the silver screens...! But then again, not all anime films are peak, so ... :p

"Six-String Samurai" will ALWAYS be remembered in my cinescaope for that time I missed out grabbing the (bootleg) DVD by a mere few seconds (in Vietnam, when I worked on a feature film), which overshadowed whatever memories I had of watching the film itself, honestly speaking. My "pettiness" overwhelmed me too much! Here'a a full length watch, for old times' sake lah...

By "1999", I had completed 2 local feature films: "Forever Fever" as the Art Ditrctor, and "The Teenage Textbook Movie" as Production Designer, and on the cusp of or already finished my third feature; "Street Angels", and was neck-deep in FILM, both behind-the-scenes, and a renewed P.O.V. as an audience, now "practitioner". Was I as "discerning" a viewer? I do not remember, but recognised my tastes have morphed and evolved thru the different watches, thru different times/years. At the same time, I cannot say if my "time" remained tightened, as I was further involved in the local media production scene than ever before LOL
