"Spaceballs 2" Cometh

Classic 1987 sci-fi comedy film "Spaceballs" is getting a sequel 4 decades later, as announced by creator Mel Brooks (video below), coming to theaters in 2027, courtesy of Amazon MGM Studios. May the schwartz be with you!

Since a beloved oft referenced classic in it's own right, I wonder how the humour will translate these days? Would it still riff-off Star Wars (and other adjacent Sci-Fi classic icons)? Or will it become it's own master? Especially after years of parodied projects / films riffing off horror (Scary Movie), and it's ilk. And if at all it would be affected by WOKE culture?

And will the "Dark Helmet" once again reign supreme?
