Dropped is the teaser trailer and poster for "(THE) HUMAN VAPOR" (ガス人間), starring Shun Oguri, Yu Aoi, Suzu Hirose, Kento Hayashi, UTA, Yutaka Takenouchi. Directed by Shinzo Katayama, this is a REMAKE of a classic 1960's "The Human Vapor" from Toho Studios, and was further intrigued by this after watching the trailers from the 60s version! I really appreciate it when "remakes/reboots" are done for projects that used to be in black-n-white :)

The Human Vapor appears.
The world is shocked when a person suddenly swells and explodes on live television. The culprit behind this unprecedented murder is a man who has been turned into gas: the Human Vapor. He announces and carries out a series of murders. The Human Vapor uses the nature of gas to move uninhibited and completely elude identification, each of his bizarre killings escalating a fervor of fear and curiosity across Japan.

A legendary Toho film is rebooted with a brand-new story. VFX by the Academy Award-winning team Shirogumi that amazed the world with its work on Godzilla Minus One is combined with an extraordinary sense of scale, represented by grand car chases. A visual experience of a new dimension that far surpasses past Japanese drama series is about to be released worldwide.



1960's SYNOPSIS: A librarian (Yoshio Tsuchiya, Seven Samurai) is subject to a scientific experiment which goes wrong and transforms him into 'The Human Vapor'. He uses his new ability to rob banks to fund the career of his girlfriend (Kaoru Yachigusa, Madame Butterfly), a beautiful dancer. The Human Vapor is ruthless in his quest for money and kills anyone who stands in his way, especially police. He soon becomes Tokyo's most wanted criminal. Can he be stopped before he kills again?
