The first look spot for the new Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation has come online, with the actual (global) trailer to debut 23rd March via MissionImpossible.com. Premiering July 31, 2015 in the USA, the film stars Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Alec Baldwin and Rebecca Ferguson, and is directed by Christopher McQuarrie (Director for "Jack Reacher", Writer for "Edge of Tomorrow", "Jack Reacher", "Valkyrie", "The Usual Suspects").
The M:I concept is interesting to me - besides the "American super spy" angle as a foil to the British "James Bond" - is that various incarnations of "Etha Hunt" has been made and released as 1/6th-scaled figures in the past … I remember snagging the first non-licensed Ethan (from John Woo's M:I2) for the faux leather jacket, and years later blogging about the Medicom Toy version of the skyscraper-jumping action figure from "Ghost Protocol". I wonder if the character will receive the toy treatment this time around …
PLOT: "Ethan and team take on their most impossible mission yet, eradicating the Syndicate – an International rogue organization as highly skilled as they are, committed to destroying the IMF."
