"Tang Monk brings three disciples on a journey to the West. On the outside, everything seems harmonious. However, tension is present beneath the surface, and their hearts and minds are not in agreement. After a series of demon-capturing events, the monk and his disciples gain mutual understanding of each others' hardships and unease. Finally, they resolve their inner conflict and work together to become an all-conquering, demon-exorcising team." (IMDb)

JOURNEY TO THE WEST 2: DEMON CHAPTER is the sequel to the 2013 film, “Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons” - which was directed, written, and produced by Stephen Chow. Stephen continues to produce this instalment, while director reins for this film, is handed to Tsui Hark! The two appear at the end of the trailers for some insanity - spoken in Cantonese.

The film stars Kris Wu, Kenny Lin, Yao Chen, Mengke Bateer, Wang Duo and more. The film is scheduled for release in China on January 28, 2017, which comes at the start of the Chinese New Year holiday. The film premieres in Singapore on January 26th!

Without a doubt, the Chinese dubbed version will arrive at our cinemas, and although my Cantonese is horrendous, I would much better listen to that and read the English subs anyways hahaha

The trailer below is the exact same s the one up top, but with the film’s dialog in Cantonese - which I first saw, and laughed out loud at the “xei2mah2lao1” (“死猴子”) exclamation!
