“Piranha” Prop Replica Model from Tomenosuke

Shinji Nakako of Japanese toy brand Tomonosuke is a known cinephile and is as passionate about “movies” as he is about “collectible toys” (Tomenosuke #onTOYSREVIL), and his “Blade Runner” hand-blaster replicas are highly sort after products too. He shares with us something new he has cooked up, based on a “classic” concept…

"We are bringing back the killer fish, created by two of the greatest monster maker - Rob Bottin who worked on “The Thing” (1982)and ”RoboCop”(1987), and Phil Tippett on the “Jurassic Park”(1993) and “Starship Troopers” (1997) - for a low-budget film “Piranha” (1978) when they were still nobody, to the modern world.

Under the supervision by the originator and the legendary Japanese female producer, Chako Vanleeuwen, the Japanese monster maker Higa Brothers cast on the real piranha prop model and handcraft each and every piece to authentically reproduce the original creature – that is (the) Piranha Prop Replica Model."

The LATEX Version - which faithfully reproduces even the texture of the actual prop - Priced at 69,800JPY, in an edition size of 50 (Purchase here).

The FIBREGLASS Version - which features the relief-like finish around the mouth - Priced at 53,440JPY, in an edition of 50pcs (Purchase here).

With the “Piranha” replica itself sized 12.5 x 8.0 x 3.25 inch, BOTH Versions come with a walnut display stand, and both comes with the guarantee signed by Chako Vanleeuwen.
