THE SHAPE OF WATER from Guillermo del Toro - Film Trailers & Poster by James Jean
When Guillermo del Toro makes “monster films”, you WATCH. ’Nuff said.
Witness the coming of “THE SHAPE OF WATER”, starring Doug Jones as the titular incrnation of “Creature from the Black Lagoon” fish/man (Mr Jones played “Abe Sapien” in both of del Toro’s “Hellboy” movies, to excellent effect, thanks), in ”an other-worldly fairy tale, set against the backdrop of Cold War era America circa 1962.” Coupled with an unlikely romance with a mute-lady whom is not cast with a “flawless beauty” (and I meant absolutely no disrespect here, Sally Hawkins!), which almost always inevitably plague Hollywood feature films, IMHO, ala “Beauty and The Beast” celluloid-n-story tropes.
But the design and aesthetics? Nothing can bet de Toro’s visual splendour, IMHO!
