The Alienist: Angel of Darkness (Season 2 on TNT)
Season Two of The Alienist opens with Sara (Dakota Fanning) reuniting with Dr. Kreizler (Daniel Brühl), the formidable alienist, and John Moore (Luke Evans), now a New York Times reporter, to find the Spanish Consular's kidnapped infant daughter. Their investigation leads them down a sinister path of murder and deceit, heading towards a dangerous and elusive killer. The series shines a light on the provocative issues of the era – the corruption of institutions, income inequality, yellow press sensationalism, and the role of women in society.
The Alienist: Angel of Darkness premiered July 19th on TNT.
And while I'd somewhat enjoyed the first season, I've actually not completed it (hence have no mention here on POPORNX, except for my now-defuncted I LIKE TEEVEE-blog), and feel somewhat spoilt by the trailers, if only for the character development/arc of "Sara", and am quite excited to see her come of her own ...
I have since set myself the aim of finishing said Season 1, before embarking on Season 2, whose "dead baby"-plot reminds me too much of Perry Mason's current season, and quite frankly I don't think I could handle two bleak notions at the same time...
