I've been seeing on my X-TL reports of Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan collaborating on a new "KARATE KID" film, and personally wondered "how much longer are they going to milk nostalgia?" Even with the latest "Cobra Kai" project, it seems "nostalgia" works if it evolved, rather than being "remade", IMHO ... but then again the term is kinda murky, and whatever suits the purpose in folks' consciousness and subconsciousness ... American actor Ralph George Macchio Jr. played "Daniel LaRusso" in three Karate Kid films (1984, 1986, 1989) and in "Cobra Kai" (2018), a sequel television series on Netflix.
Jackie Chan played "Mr. Han" (a kung fu master based on the original trilogy's Mr. Miyagi") in the 2010 remake of "The Karate Kid", which starred a 11-year old Jaden Smith
Both actors will reprise their roles in the upcoming movie, moving forth with the "Karate Kid" universe/franchise.
