Best Romance K-Dramas

Out of the "15 Best Romance K-Dramas" (according to BuzzFeed) listed, I've only caught 6 of them (*and by that I meant watching the entirety of the series, not partial), which I am sharing the trailers for today! And while I do not wholly agree with the list, let's jiust have fun with this, shall we?

"I Am Not A Robot" (로봇이 아니야) is a 32-episoder (1/2 hour each ep tho) broadcast on MBC between 2017-2018.

Chae Soo-Bin is both the human "Jo Ji-A" and the android "Aji 3", with Yoo Seung-Ho being the male romanic lead. I am here for Soo-Binnie, thanks.

Good fluffy fun, with sweet-sweet undertones and "humanity blossoming" tropes, none too hard a hit on the brains, so a decent watch, IMHO.

"It’s Okay To Not Be Okay" (사이코지만 괜찮아) is a 16-episoder broadcast on tvN in 2020, and currently watchable on Netflix.

"An extraordinary road to emotional healing opens up for an antisocial children's book writer and a selfless psych ward caretaker when they cross paths."

Starring Kim Soo-Hyun and Oh Jung-Se (as brothers "Kang-Tae" and autistic "Sang-Tae"), the luxuriously gorgeous Seo Yea-Ji, makes this an exceptional KDRAMA to be had, IMHO.

I've since watched this twice (and a half), as well features one of the best OSTs in memory. Forgo whatever controversies the Actors and Actresses have since had, just enjoy the fictional kdrama for what it's worth, methinks.

"My Demon" (마이 데몬) stars Kim You-Jung as the human, while Song Kang is the literal demon who falls for her. Broadcast on SBS (from 2023 - 2024), I have only since watched this 16-episoder once, and have no real desire to return for another watch, as gorgeous as Kim You-Jung is, cheers.

"Business Proposal" (사내맞선) is based on web novel "Sanae Matsun” by Hae Hwa (published via KakaoPage). This 2022-series consisted of 12 episodes, aired on SBS and currently watchable on Netflix.

"In disguise as her friend, Ha-ri shows up to a blind date to scare him away. But plans go awry when he turns out to be her CEO — and makes a proposal."

Kim Se-Jeong is Ha-ri, and Ahn Hyo-Seop is the CEO "boyfriend". The supporting characters by Kim Min-Kyu and Seol In-A have a romance of their own too.

I adored this KDRAMA (and Kim Se-Jeong) and have since watched it twice. "Samantha and Rachel" will approve ... LOL

"True Beauty" (여신강림) is a 16-episoder series broadcasted on tvN circa 2020-2021. Based on webcomic "Yeoshingangrim" by Yaongyi (published by Naver Webtoon Company), the KDRAMA starred Mun Ka-Young, Cha Eun-Woo and Hwang In-Yeop as high school students dealing with self-inferiority complex about her own looks, and the 2 boys on her life.

Out of curiosity I'd watched the later portion of the KDRAMA first, and came back slightly later to catch the beginning of said series. It took quite a suspension of belief to accept them as "high school students" tho, and the grating naivety LOL

"Goblin" also known as "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God" (쓸쓸하고 찬란하神-도깨비 / 2016-2017) is a 16-episoder KDRAMA broadcast on tvN and currently watchable on Netflix.

Gong Yoo as the immortal Goblin King
Kim Go-Eun as the Goblin's Bride
Lee Dong-Wook as a Grim Reaper

Initially I avoided the kdrama because of the overt praise it was getting over socials, and I admit I am quite adverse to such circumstance... but eventually curiosity and boredom got the better of me, and I watched it much later, and adored it to bit.

The bromance is hilariously underrated, the love-angle perhaps more controversial if folks had taken the age-gap as a red flag, but otherwise highly recommended. This kdrama is attributed to affecting the change in filming in locations around the world, as opposed to just domestic locales.
