Final Trailer & Poster for #GhostintheShell: SAC_2045 (on Netflix)
A new poster (above) and "Final Trailer" has since been released for animated sries "Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045" - scheduled to premiere April 23rd, 2020, only on Netflix.
Featuring character designs by Ilya Kuvshinov (Russian Illustrator based in Tokyo / Instagram @kuvshinov_ilya), they've decided to go with the full CG-styled aesthetics in the poster image, compared to the earlier teasers (View below after trailer video) previously released.
"“Ghost in the Shell,” a landmark in near-future science fiction, brings together Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki as they present their vision of the year 2045 in Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045. Led by full-body cyborg Motoko Kusanagi, Public Security Section 9 once again gets ready to face off against cybercrime."
"Expectations" are pretty high for this, especially from myself, having been a fan since the first 1995 anime film, and subsequent anime projects and the 2017 live-action adaptation (*Which I not so ironically gave up completing/publishing my "Negative Impressions" of, because it was too depressing for myself LOL). I am not going to lie, I am still uncomfortable (to say the least) with the obvious CG-animated aesthetics (Altered Carbon: Resleeved proved that the visual quirk could be overcome with aesthetic choices, IMHO - Of course that's just my personal opinion+preference), but will await patiently for the show itself, to see if the script/story - and maybe even the English subtitles - can distract my visual sensibilities LOL
Meanwhile, I'll end this post with the following video - first featured in 2015 for the "Alternative Architecture" TV Anime Series - which celebrated the "25 years of GITS", which counts for "30 Years" in 2020, no? Yes, expectations are high, indeed...!
