A featurette titled “Legacy” has been unleashed online, which tells the entire three-film arc for the “Planet of the Apes” prequel (to the series of 1977 films), culminating in the coming July 14th premiere of WAR OF THE PLANET OF THE APES (TAGGED on #popcornX) in USA, which in turn showcases how awesome this trilogy has been (for the first 2 films), and will continue to be, IMHO.
Truthfully, what I had remembered from the OG series in the late-70s were broad-strokes of the story, and characters, and of course recognised words/quotes repeated throughout the decades (and of gagging to collect the toys LOL), a film series from a previous generation, which we cling unto the memories of … so remembering the first two films in this iteration, is a delight and marvel at how well done and thought out it had been, to me as an average viewer, and not based on any “professional knowledge” or “authorised armchair critic” - a film series for my current generation (and of others, of course), and I am grateful to witness it.
I am so looking forward to seeing this in the cinema, for when it premieres in SG screens on July 13th, 2017!
Scroll down for a new poster released in Singapore (thanks to Shaw!) :)
